Hey. You, yeah you! I saw a few VERY strange old pictures and I need to know what they mean...I'm so confused. I'm trying to understand how they came about and it's sorta fun, so I thought I'd share them! Why did people take these pictures??? They are just crazy weird. Do you think these are crazy and creepy as I think they are? Or are they just totally normal and I'm the crazy one...

Hello. I'm very, very sorry I haven't been posting. It's just because of life.
When I started blogging it was summer but now that school started most of my time is being spent doing, you guessed it, school. I bet you're so jealous. Anyways, I going to try to post more often but just with shorter posts. Until I get the time to write a longer blog I thought I would share some of my favorite quotes/sayings with you. Cuz sometimes you just need a little happy! If that is like the most horribly boring idea you've ever heard of them you should probably while you can. If you don't think this is a horribly boring idea then keep reading! (Don't you just love my painfully obvious directions? Yeah, I'm annoying I know.)
I know someone said all of these but I only put quotation marks on the ones that I knew the author of. I hope at least one of these "spoke" to you. I have a notebook I call my "quote book" where I write down phrases or verses that I like. So most of these came from that but I got a few of them off my "Cheesy Inspirational Quotes" Pinterest board. #ShamelessPlug (You can like totally follow my account by clicking the "P" at the top of my header. Lol no one reads this blog I don't know who I'm talking to. *Silently cries*) Have a wonder day or night and keep being awesome! Sarah, the human <3 Stare at that image. Just stare at it. Wow, doesn't she look comfortable? Happy? She's getting ready, putting on some makeup, she has her hair in rollers. Those rollers are pretty weird looking but they look squishy and flexible, comfy right? LIES!!!!!!! ALL LIES! She may not look like she's in pain, but that's only because she's trained to. Those flexi Rod things are modern day TORTURE devices! And I'm going to tell you all about it. P.s I'm extremely sorry for being gone so long. But sometimes life just gets in the way of you "life-ing".
Okay, people, person, no one, whatever. So for the past few years I have had a pixie cut which you would know if you read my "Pro's and Cons of Getting a Pixie Cut" blog #ShameLessPlug ...Okay, maybe I feel a little bit of shame. Moving on, I used to have really long hair. And really flat hair...well, I still do. Since I've always had really flat hair I was obsessed with finding something that would make my hair curly that was easy. I tried everything! And for me a traditional curling iron gave me the best results...well, like only right after I curled my hair, cuz within literally minutes my hair would go all limp again. One of the many, many curling techniques I tried was the Conair Flexi rod thingies and they SUUUUUCK!!! Not only are they EXTREMLY painful the curl they produce isn't worth the pain. They are unbelievably difficult and painful to put in and painful to take out. Not to mention the HORROR of sleeping in them! Stories With Sarah! (This is the part of the blog when Sarah comes out and tells a story. What I just said has so much more meaning if you've ever watched Veggie Tales.) When I first tried my flexi rods I just put a few in for a minute or so just to experiment with them and they seemed a little painful, but okay, so I had no idea what I was getting myself into when I decided to do a real deal, full head, overnight curling session. I thought I was so ready, I even watched YouTube videos to make sure I was performing the curling procedure properly. Wet hair: check! Tangle free: check! Hair split in sections: kinda... (I did my best but ya know, nobody's perfect.) If you don't know, you're supposed to roll your hair up by just tucking the ends of your hair under the bottom of the rod and then rolling up. Which is easier said then done...and it's kinda hard to say so you can just imagine how freaking hard this technique is! The hair slips all over the place, if you roll your hair up too tight it hurts and if its too loose the hair just falls off the rod. Just rolling one section of hair takes 4-ever!!! After probably, FIVE HOURS I've somehow managed to put all these stupid and painful rods in my hair. DISCALIMER: It didn't really take five hours but you get the point, it took awhile. Now, if this was the only bad thing about flexi rods I'd probably still use them when I had some time on my hands and felt like putting them in my hair. But oh no, no no no no, the worst is yet to come. Since theses lil' guys are no heat curlers you have to leave them in for hours and hours for them to work, so putting them in before you go to bed and wearing them over night is recommended. Sounds pretty easy right? All you have to do is go to sleep, right? WRONG AGAIN!!!!! You can not, I repeat, can not sleep with these foul things attached to your hair. And if you can then you're a wizard and therefore magical so you don't count. Getting back to the actual story, I get into my bed, like always. I read, like always. I lay my head upon my pillow, like always. And I close my eyes and go to sleep, like always...wait, wait, wait, back up the bus. Remember that going to sleep part? Yeah, that didn't happen. Wanna know why? Well, normally when I go to sleep I don't have 30 tubes rolled up in my hair. Not fun. When I put pressure on my head the rods were pulled against my pillow, so pain. And to top that off because of how thick the rods were my heads was elevated off the pillow about an inch, so neck pain. Let's review, I'm in pain while being in pain on top of pain why experiencing pain...so pain. After (This time I'm not exaggerating.) no joke, two or three hours of tossing and turning and well, pain, I resorted to getting up at 3 AM and taking all of my still slightly damp "curlers". I say curlers in parentheses because due to the effectiveness of this product and the fact my hair was still wet the curls I got left much to be desired. Plus, I had a huge headache because of how much then were pulling on my hair. AQnd that was the story of basically the worst night of my life. Let us review once more, flexi rods take forever to put in, they are hard to put in, they are painful while sitting on your head, they are painful when you try to sleep, you can't sleep in them, and they give you a headache. The only good thing about trying to sleep in these evil things is the feeling of relief when you get to take them off! And even that's ruined since you scalp hurts! I'm guess by this glowing review of flexi rods you'll be rushing out the door to but these suckers. I once again apologize for not posting for a few days, I'm working on posting more! I hope if you were ever thinki9ng about buying these things my honest review shed helped your decision. I must say, if you like to uncomfortable and in pain then buy these! Have any of you tried these??? What did you think? Keep being awesome. Sarah, the human <3 |
